VVA Chapter 1069 Meeting Report for: February 2-12-2020

The meeting was held at Mikeska’s BBQ, (located on Hwy 59) El Campo, TX.

The Pledge of Allegiance to the flag was recited and a prayer was said.

President, Frank Laitkep then recognized all those members who were having
birthdays in February.

Frank then introduced guests and potential new members.

The meeting was then recessed for the evening meal (Mikeska's BBQ).

Frank then re-opened the meeting open at 8:00 PM.
The following chapter business was transacted.

A discussion was initiated regarding some information the chapter received from our VVA
TSC President, Kerwin Stone. We had sent an email to Kerwin, expressing our concern about
the future of the VVA organization, and that perhaps VVA National was going ahead with
plans to (1) change the name of the oranization, and (2) change the membership criteria
so as to allow all veterans to join the new organization. Kerwin's response was basically
that VVA National could make plans to dot that, but could NOT actually execute the plan
before the year 2021, when the next VVA Natinoal Conventions would be held. And, some sort
of Resolution or Constitutional change had been voted on and approved by the attending
chapter delegates. Frank read Kerwin's entire email to the membership.
