VVA Chapter 1069 Meeting Report for: July 7-10-2019

The meeting was held at Mikeska’s BBQ, (located on Hwy 59) El Campo, TX.

The Pledge of Allegiance to the flag was recited and a prayer was said.
-
President, Frank Laitkep, then recognized all those members who were having birthdays in July.

Frank then introduced guests and potential new members.
-
The meeting was then recessed for the evening meal.
-
Frank then re-opened the meeting open at 8:00 PM.
The following chapter business was transacted.

Mike Harbaugh, Chapter member and Wharton County "VA Accredited" Veteran
Service Officer, gave his Veterans Benefits presentation.

Leonard Sternadel, then presented an update for the 2019 chapter fundraiser raffle. See sample raffle ticket
below that lists all items in the raffle.

An update was then given regarding the Group Counceling session.

An update was then given regarding the local Wharton County Medical Centers and their support for Vietnam veterans.

Chapter Windbreaker Jacket - More information was given out about those who may want to
order our official VVA green embroidered windbreaker jacket. Please contact any of the chapter officers if you wish

A report was then give regarding the luncheon given to Vietnam veterans by the Nada Gadabouts Society.

It was then reported that our chapter had given permission to our TSC (Texas State Council) to represent our 2 chapter
Delegates at the upcoming VVA National Convention, and to use their 2 votes in support of leaving the VVA as is. Note
that the Convention was being held in Spokane Washington, and we would not be sending any Delegates because of the travel
and lodging costs.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
Our next chapter meeting will be Aug 14, 2019. Note that we will be holding the Raffle Drawing at that meeting!
