VVA Chapter 1069 Meeting Report for: February, 2-11-2015

The meeting was held at Mikeska's BBQ, El Campo, TX.

There were 43 members and guests present, along with 5 spouses in attendance.

President Leonard Sternadel declared the meeting open at 1900 hours and the following business was transacted.

The Pledge of Allegiance to the flag was recited and a prayer was said.

Sternadel then introduced a visiting Vietnam veteran and his wife from St. Cloud, Minnesota.

He then introduced new members Paul Orsak and Jimmy Ochoa.

The meeting was recessed for the meal and reconvened at 1935.

The minutes of the last meeting were approved as presented.

VVA Service Officer Dwight Winkler presented the members a handout of Summary of Benefits. He highlighted
the need to report health care insurance details regarding the 2014 tax return. Also, Liberty Tax Service
will provide free filing for veterans.

Bob Supak stated he has received 15 member's biography information.

Sternadel reminded all that the Travelling Wall will be back in El Campo July 16-20, 2015. Saturday the
18th will be the day for the Memorial Project for the crosses for the fallen local and area veterans along
with placing a rose on each cross. Member participation is needed to help with the events for the day.
He also thanked Supak for his work in completing the crosses and thanked James Kulcak for coordinating the
fabricating of the crosses with EC Sheetmetal, who donated the materials.

The bus trip to Austin for the Texas Capital Vietnam Veterans Monument was discussed.

There being no further business, President Sternadel declared the meeting adjourned at 2100.
